Of birthday celebrations and simple food

The usual gang of friends celebrated Edmund, Zhizi, and Joelly's birthdays at Labrador Park. A few of us gathered earlier at Vivo's Giant to buy food for the bbq, and Edmund kindly drove us to the destination.

Labrador Park is the kind of place where inaccessibility becomes one of its pulling factor. Couples go there to just walk along the walkway, taking in the view and nice sea breeze.. minus the crowd. (thats if you own a car)

So personally i enjoyed that place because unlike East Coast Park, Labrador Park is relatively quiet, apart from the patrolling coast guards. The place has that "exclusive" factor... if you ask me.

Anyway, it was the standard bbq spread. Sausages, crab sticks, otahs, chicken wings and prawns.
We didn't have time to marinate them, so we conveniently bought the belachan chilli paste! It works wonders with the meat!

And thats Edmund, the birthday boy cooking for the group. Fyi, that fire you see in the picture destroyed the otahs that were on the grill. There was no need to be continuously fanning the fire because the sea breeze helped with that! Another plus point of Labrador Park!

Every now and then the not very health concious me will be applying butter on the food, and the expression on jH's face reads: ENOUGH ALREADY!!

While waiting for time to pass, we posed with the extra lemongrass..

Typical of all bbqs, there is often TOO MUCH food, and we have to use forfeits to finish the food. In our case, we played Indian Poker! (:

The look on Zhizi's face kinda shows she knows it's an Ace on her forehead! haha.

Happy Birthday again to them. From left: Joelly, Edmund, Zhizi

The birthday people posing with their gifts. A wallet, a perfume and a t-shirt.

And to top it all off, here's a slutty picture featuring Edmund. We were playing heart attack after finishing the cake, and Edmund confidently places his hands on top of the pile, together with his cigarette.

Great night out! (:
