$3.30 bus ride

Do you have a habit to check the balance of ur EZ Link when you alight from the bus?

I'm so thankful i did because it flashed $3.30!! instead of the usual $0.89! That kinda shook me up because i was travelling to my 9am class. I then proceeded to the Toa Payoh MRT Control Station to ask my questions, expecting an answer.

Me: I boarded BUS 105.. but when i checked the transaction history, it showed i took 580. And i was charged $3.30. Can i get a refund please?

Staff: *in an instant* Oh. It must have been a glitch in the system. You need to approach the ticketing office.

Me: So can i get the refund?

Staff: I don't know, you'll have to ask them.

Wah, best lor, i thought to myself. Play tai-chi.. push to ticketing office.

The promptness in her reply showed that this is definitely not the first time a glitch like this has happened. I wonder how many people actually notice such glitches if they don't have the habit of checking their EZ Link balances. Can you imagine if the whole bus remained unaware of this... 105 lei. There'll be hundreds of dollars in excess when the bus finishes its trip.

Well anyway in the afternoon, i managed to get a receipt from the ticketing office. She told me that the refund, IF ANY, will be available in a week's time. And i'll have to show the receipt upon claim. -.-|||

I wonder who will go through all this trouble......
