I had wanted to start a blog post on revisiting 2009 but what happened this evening deserves some immediate attention before I chuck it one side like many other stories.
Minding my own business at Subway while munching on the 6-inch turkey breast sandwich, my attention started to drift to the ongoing conversation at the table beside mine. Trying to act normal while eavesdropping, I only managed to overhear snippets of the conversation like problems they faced being a CGL.
Simi is CGL i wondered? And recalling something I heard one of them mentioned about prayers, clever me guessed it's cell group leader! Anyway, I also don't know if it's correct, but I just felt damn proud I managed to figured that out. Haha. But this is besides the point.
They were discussing on understanding the people in their "CG", and they went ONE BY ONE. Like for example, "So for Jason, what do you think of him?" Then the other person would say, "Oh, he's very quiet and it's quite tough to get him to speak up and share with us."
Taking out of context, don't they think this is like very intrusive into someone's life?! Forcing someone to talk or share their views/problems? I was so tempted to ask them if they felt it was too intrusive, but I didn't bother and continued listening to their conversation.
Then they went on to talk about the responsibilities of a "CGL" and how they need to care for people in the CG despite having limited time and energy.
From then on, I was just finishing up my sandwich and starting on my chips. I wondered to myself - 信仰也太伟大了吧. It can get someone to do something the religion deems necessary, even if it's against the natural will of the particular person. So regardless of religion, if everyone cared like what the two did, the world would be a better place. Won't it?
After dinner, I walked to the bus interchange and queued for the feeder bus to my place. Halfway through the journey, just before the bend after the Toa Payoh South CC, the driver honked at this man who was jogging at the side of the road (where the double yellow line is). The driver himself lost control of the bus and veered onto the kerb and down again. For a moment, I thought we hit the man but what I heard was a yell from one of the passengers behind. This old lady fell off her chair and hit her head against the chair. Ho seh liao lor. The bus stopped, the man running stopped outside and took a look, and passengers on the bus KPO all turn behind to see what happened.
It took the driver about 5mins to settle the case with the old lady after helping her back onto the chair, and he proceeded to call for an ambulance just to make sure. Naturally, most of the passengers alighted.
And 林伯 walked 3 bus stops home.
Really hor... why people can't run on the walkway? Must run on road har?
Buay tahan.
