Hit Awards 2009

I came out of The Hit Awards 2009 feeling like I've just watched a concert. There were performances by ALL artistes who attended. And each of them sang a minimum of 3 songs.

They were all there to perform on stage.

我想歌手最希望的就是能在台上唱歌。得奖只是额外的收获。
我觉得这就是新加坡金曲奖和别人不同的地方。

出席的嘉宾虽然不多，但他们卖力的表演就能让观众值回票价了。

乐坛老将 - 五月天 及 S.H.E;

新加坡骄傲 - 蔡健雅, 陈伟联;

乐坛新兵 - 萧敬腾, 梁文音, 徐佳莹, 黄靖伦, 张芸京, Olivia Ong, 迷路兵, 等歌手都带了非常精彩的演出。


Ironically, winning or losing becomes secondary in this Award show because they were all here for the same reason. Because of music.

In the beginning, it really bothered me why certain Awards were given out to certain people, which I think should go to other deserving nominated artistes. But I realised the nomination was just a facade. The motive was to promote music. And precisely so because music is such a subjective matter. That said, the winners tonight sounded great when they sang live!

So doesn't really who wins in the end. We all went home with sore palms, hoarse and happy.
