The unfinished post

Blogging is becoming a chore, especially when the moment you come home and immediately feel tired. I've been on the oversleep-and-miss-bus/train-stop mode for the past few weeks, and it's so scary. One minute you close your eyes thinking your stop is still 10mins away, next thing you know the bus driver is tapping on your shoulder waking you up. And you find urself not where you want to be.

And today nearly became one of those days, thankfully I woke up just before the train door was about to slam shut. So before I procrastinate further, let me get down to penning this long, photo laden post.

My colleague was telling me how her bf surprised her on her birthday, brought her to this restaurant in Sentosa for a fantastic dinner. Turns out, the restaurant was having a National Day Promo for the weekend. For a 4 course meal, it's $44++ for 2 person! Even the cocktails were at $4.44++. Unbelievably good value. So we decided to hold Yuanru's belated birthday celebration at that place.

The place is called Suburbia, it's a semi-fine dining restaurant located inside Sentosa. They serve steaks, pasta, seafood... so lets just say they serve Western for convenience sake la.

Appetiser is salmon with scallop. The salmon is slightly seared on the outside, raw on the inside. And scallop was duper sweet!

Tomato Soup. Rich and creamy. Love the sour cream. *slurps*

One of the mains, Paella, if I remember correctly

Another main, tenderloin steak served with big prawn

Last of the mains, FISH! Very fresh

Dessert was this strawberry biscuity thing, served with complimentary tea or coffee

And a special mention about the service at the place. Because it wasn't crowded as expected, I felt extra special because the staff were attentive to us and even sang the birthday song for the birthday girl!

Tak glam shot of me flushing red after downing the overly-generous cocktail

The person taking the photo is not drunk. Just so happens the night mode requires tripod. haha

After dinner we went to Vivo for our 12am movie, HANGOVER! But before that, Edmund popped by after attending a wedding dinner. So we just hanged around at the rooftop for 15mins and took pictures

After the movie it was about 230am? And jH and I had to reach Harbourfront Ferry Terminal the following day at 8am, for our BATAM TRIP.

2D1N Batam Trip.

Since starting work, weekends were especially important. After 5 days of work, you just want to relax and maximise enjoyment in that 2 days. So when the LONG weekend came, I really wanted to go somewhere outside of Singapore. Sort of a short escapade.

And after some last minute deliberating on where to go, it came to the point where we were looking for a place which is not fully-booked and more importantly, affordable. So we settled for KTM Resort at Batam. For accomodation, transport and minimal expenses, we spent about S$200 per person which was fairly reasonable.

Resort's lobby

The villas!

Beachfront Cottages

Resident SPA Centre, S$25 for 1hr massages, but quite painful. Don't say I never warn you

Goofing around in the tour bus

Go-Karting!

Emo-ing, staring out at sea before body massage

Love this.

View when we get our massage

Comfortable for me, but jH ended up with orh cheh on ur legs. haha..

Lazing around waiting for returning ferry

Overall, it's a nice trip away from the city. I found abit of my old self there. (:
