That means less bak kwa, less pineapple tarts, less KTV, less movies. Like this weekend, I had to decide which movie to watch out of the three. Changeling, Milk or Rachel Getting Married.
Since we'll be having dinner before the movie, I need a movie that is not crappy to justify the ticket price, but also not too serious if not I'll just fall asleep. Eventually, I chose to buy tickets to Rachel Getting Married.

The beginning of the show reminds me of Cloverfield. BAD!
Not concrete falling off the sky, but the hand held cam part. It felt incredibly uncomfortable for us, especially on a full stomach.
In a nutshell, the movie's about the inability to rejoin the society after you've touched drugs and been to rehab. People do not see you as before and treat you differently.
Honestly, I didn't really enjoy this part of the show because I can't relate to it. I enjoyed more of the joyous documentation of the addict's sister (Rachel) marriage. The dinners, the speeches, the performances, the dancing. It adds that warm and fuzzy feel to the very much dark content.
Notably, it was quite a breakthrough performance by Anne Hathaway from her previous works. Her last movie that really caught my eye was 'Devil Wears Prada' but Meryl Streep's presence kind of overshadowed her performance. But in this movie, Anne Hathaway was the focus and I thought she did really well in portraying the inner struggle to fit into the society she once belonged.
Away with the beautiful hair and fancy clothings. This is the Anne Hathaway you've never seen before.
