Bali-day

Just got back from a secondary school friend's wedding held at the Mandai Orchid Garden. As the name suggests, the place is a garden that has lots of plants here and there. The dinner was held at one of the huts, if thats what you call it. The surrounding was tranquil and had a very bali-feel to it, from the ceiling fans to the warm lightings, to the sound of crickets and the wooden structures...

But the highlight was the food served. IT WAS FULL VEGETARIAN BUFFET. I know the groom is vegetarian, but I didn't know the bride was also a vegetarian! So you can imagine la, downing so much starch in the form of duck / mutton / prawn / sea cucumber.... The food was surprisingly tasty but you get bloated pretty easily. So if you're the small appetite kind of person, go eat vegetarian buffet very lugi.

The solemnisation started around 5:30pm and ended before 6pm. And the whole dinner plus yum seng session plus phototaking with bride and groom ended before 8pm!

Still in the bali mood, Shaun recommended us to have a drink at Villa Bali, situated opposite Alexandra Point (where I used to work). The place looks unreal at night, totally different from what it is during the day when I go for my lunches. The music was good, the lighting was good, the drinks are reasonably priced and the seats were so bali! Not like I've been to bali la, but the place felt really cosy.

So as usual, we ordered a round of drinks and went off quite early since most of us have work on Monday, myself included.

It's now one down in the group who's married. I wonder who will be next..... (:

p.s. Blissful marriage to the new couple!
