Batman v.s. Hellboy 2

This durian season is making me fall sick. Even before the last box of durians is touched, i see another TWO boxes on the kitchen table. I'm down with a really sore throat and runny nose. Bad timing... when deadlines are nearing and i'm watching two blockbuster movies in this condition.

I just got back from the theatre after watching Batman kick Joker's ass. I would have to say it's..... trying too hard. You know when a story has to end, it has to end. Instead, they had to wrap up EVERYTHING so nicely, like what happened to who and this and that and blah blah blah... The movie was freaking 153min long.

Albeit all the action packed scenes and reflections you got out of the movie, i suppose the first thought on your mind when the credits are rolling is to RUSH TO THE TOILET. Probably i'm ill, or maybe i drank too much 'liang teh' during the show.. but the movie had to attend to all these details that it got me a little fidgety at the end. It was like watching... Lord of The Rings - The Return Of The King.

AND the conclusion i got out of the show was and still is, we are all jokers of the society.

Though, I really must applaud the late Heath Ledger's standout performance in this movie. He is so sadistically good. I think everyone one of us has a part in ourselves that thinks like the joker, but we're suppressing it because of the society we're in. This movie reminds me of SAW. If you liked the concept of this movie, you should catch SAW if you haven't. (it's a thriller)

Moving on to the other disappointing movie i watched earlier this week, Hellboy 2. I was expecting big things from this movie, to the extent i tried to re-watch Hellboy 1until the disc failed on me. -.-

Well anyway, the sequel started with this set of lousy fonts that displayed the title of the movie. And the story ended with them (hellboy and gas-robot) fighting the indestructable GOLDEN ARMY... where Hellboy challenged the white-faced blonde hair guy. How the fight ended was pretty predictable because the white-faced twins are linked somehow. If sister wants to sneeze, i suppose the brother will feel like sneezing too! Haha.. that would be a good spoof!

The fighting aside, i really liked the part where they went into the Troll Market. Very much like Harry Potter's Diagon Alley. Believe it or not, you can wiki places in harry potter.

You see, Batman and Hellboy have the same dilemna. I suppose they could switch their roles and still be pretty fine in the new set / similar storyline. Imagine Batman fighting off trolls and Hellboy fighting Joker.

And after all these random sentences,

I think it would be good to end off with a quote from the Joker..

"WHY SO SERIOUS?"...
