Band Camp I

Mapled + Harry pottered for the day before i went to sch for Band Camp.. Today's the 3rd day of the camp, everyone seems stoned.. understandable...

They had a combine practice with the choir for two songs, which sounded quite ok...

The main band practice was draggy... still fixing wrong notes...=.=
This is so SPband.... dunnoe when it'll change.....
But the sharing of music knowledge was nice tho.

E.g. How to express Colonel Bogey...

I watched this video by Frederick Fennell, conducting a masterclass with a japanese high school. They played 2 songs, Our Director n' Colonel Bogey..

Mr Tan used what was taught by Maestro Fennell in the video, like the turn around chord in the middle of the piece, the contrast during the trio, the held notes instead choppy.
Stuff like these shud be spread i think, so they can get to know more styles of playing the similar piece.. prolly the band shud invest in a library collection?

Practice ended and weilun as usual, drove us home... Thanks! =)
Should be going back again tomorrow since it's the last full band.
