Day2 and Day3 of Crisis

On Day 2 of the crisis, pictures of the massive destruction dominated the air time and also on print, until a hydrogen explosion at the Fukushima 1 nuclear plant was reported.

According to the report below, the building housing the reactor was destroyed but the reactor itself was intact. - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12720219

With fears of further explosion and worst, leak of radioactive materials, a 2nd hydrogen explosion ensued at another Fukushima reactor on Day 3 of the crisis. - http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics/nation/japan-nuclear-blast-fresh-blast-in-japan-n-plant-2000-more-bodies-found/articleshow/7702243.cms

With the cooling system failing due to the cut in power, the last thing you need is to have a cooling problem with a third reactor, which unfortunately happened. With 3 reactors facing concurrent cooling problems, one can only pray that the worst will not happen.

Authorities are desperately cooling the sites with sea water, to prevent a nuclear meltdown - which means the release of radioactive materials into the environment, which would have dire long lasting effects. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_meltdown, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsRd7WQuBHc

And this is happening with ongoing relief efforts, aftershocks, and the possibility of another tsunami.

It's time to pool global efforts and expertise to limit damage.
