Day 7 - Accident level raised to 5

The current level has been raised from 4, to 5... highest being 7. Efforts to connect external power supply are ongoing, but face possible difficulties due to radiation.

"According to the International Nuclear Events Scale, a level 5 equates to the likelihood of a release of radioactive material, several deaths from radiation and severe damage to a reactor core."

In bid to save power, many stores are operating on shorter hours, but remain open when power outages occur; using candles as replacement. The disaster is testament to Japan's resilience, and readiness for crisis. The level of calm is truly admirable.

To all still searching for loved ones, hope you can be reunited soon.

Live strong.
