二月二十七日 - 许哲佩 in::music recital

In conjunction with the Huayi - Chinese Festival of Arts 2010 华艺节 in::music series, Peggy Hsu and a host of indie artistes were invited to Singapore. Being the more conventional pop person, I went for her recital which was held at the Esplanade Recital Studio.

I think it was late last year when jH downloaded her album - 《美好的》 and left it on my desktop. It was there for quite a while cos' I wasn't a fan of her music then. But I don't know what made me click into this particular song, and I fell in love with the album.



So onto the concert recital itself.

Backed by a drummer, a guitarist, a bassist and a cellist, Peggy performed songs from her latest album - 《雪人》 which are majority gloomy and depressing, in contrast to her previous album 《美好的》 which is more on the brighter side of life.

In between segments of performances, she shared about the joys of festivities and her penchant for celebrating holidays longer than usual, citing the example of celebrating Christmas until march, and Chinese New Year until mid year. So in her world, everyday's a holiday. Not bad an idea huh.

Really enjoyed the concert, partly because of the intimate settings but the music is really, really good.

Hope to hear more from her soon.

終於, 帶著興奮, 期待又緊張的心情, 開始了我們的兩場演出.

好幾首歌, 我都必需很努力的想像好笑的事, 才能抵擋想哭的衝動.

這一切, 都像溫暖的泡泡, 圈住了我的心臟!!
