Been neglecting this spot for the longest time. Now that I'm more of a facebook person, I feel lazy to type/upload the same stuff twice, which explains my inactivity.
Last weekend, I went for the 2nd Singapore Grand Prix, complimentary tickets won via a contest! Very very lucky and unexpected. I went to SingPost to change my ezlink card cos' I saw they were giving away limited edition F1 card sleeve. When I was there, I realised there's a free contest for F1 tickets going on, so I just filled in a form for the fun of it la.
And unexpectedly, I received a call on the day of EYA Gala Dinner, notifying me of my win. A PAIR OF PIT GRANDSTAND TICKETS WORTH ALMOST $3,000!
I wasn't even planning to go to the F1 cos' it's too pricey for me. And don't even mention the cheaper alternative for walkabout tickets. It's really not worth it unless you go damn early and camp in a good spot.
It was a timely win for me cos' I can choose to sell off the tickets and make some good use of the money, or I can go to F1 this year. Either ways, it's a win-win situation.
I ended up selling away tickets for the Friday practice session, and also tickets for Raceday. Made almost a thousand dollars from it, and I get to watch the Qualifying Session with jH! Ain't this fantastic!
Really curious if the huge slice of luck came from my virgin walk around the Suntec Fountain. A few weeks back, jH and I had dinner around the area and we passed by the fountain. I remember vividly that I told her: "I don't know why people pay to walk around the fountain. It works meh?"
Then her response was: "HUH? It's free one lah!"
Me: "Free?! Really? No wonder so many people la.... aye aye lets go walk also. I never walk before."
Haha. So probably on that day, something magical happened. In my mind, I was wishing I'll strike 4D or Toto. But F1 tickets, also not bad right.
So there you go.

Moral of the story: However slim the chances, give it a try. The unexpected will happen if you try hard enough.
