Deepavali Celebrations

When the invitation came, we were a little apprehensive about it. You know la, company celebrations are usually quite a boring affair, and most of the time you need to mingle with the business people which I don't exactly enjoy.

But yesterday's celebrations was unexpectedly good.

The castle themed bungalow was brightly lit up, with the tentage extended out to the road. The host greeted us at the door, and the designated photographer and videographer were busy taking pictures / videos of guests streaming in and enjoying the great hospitality.

Initially we felt quite out of place with all the business associates around. People we recognise, but don't really know. And people we didn't know who are big shots in their industry.

Solution: We sought refuge with the food!

There was indian food catered by Banana Leaf, and other booths catering to Malaysia (poh piah, ice kachang), Singapore (mee siam), Japanese cuisine (mushroom/crabmeat/tapioca tempura). A designated cook was also roasting a leg of lamb outside the bungalow! That is so mongolian style la!

Down all that food with a wide selection of alcoholic / non-alcoholic drinks at the bar top near the entrance.

If that was not enough, the host also ordered two baskets of MOUNTAIN CAT durian.

Before we left, the host passed us printouts of the photo taken.

Deepavali 2009 definitely one to remember!
