Slim title hopes diminishes after stalemate against Everton

The game wasn't quite as exciting if we compared Chelsea's recent games against Liverpool / Arsenal. Everton defended really well in this game and they created better scoring chances than Chelsea.

Chelsea was crying out loud for some creativity to unlock the Everton defence but no one seemed capable to provide it. Goal scoring efforts from Chelsea were sporadic despite having most of the possession, and they mostly came from long range efforts. Notably was John Terry's long range shot which drew a good save from Howard. Other than that, a late strike by Drogba which cannoned the crossbar in the 89min. I suppose that's the best Chelsea could have done against a resilient Everton side.

A point against Everton at this stage would have end Chelsea's slim title hopes, and possibly see a finish behind Liverpool.

But if we look at the bigger picture, it could have been a lot worse if Scolari was still at the helm.
