Champions League semi-final clash

Half-time score

Barcelona 0 - 0 Chelsea

The scoreline is definitely satisfactory. But if you saw how Barca attacked Chelsea, you would be really worried. Barca had the lion share of the possession and moved the ball really fast and effective on the pitch. Chelsea played 5 across the midfield but Barca seems too good to be troubled by the number of bodies around the pitch.

Chelsea has been defending from start to the half-time whistle with glimpses of attack from the long ball attempts to Drogba. Other than that, I can't see any goal coming from Chelsea.

If the scoreline stays the same, I doubt Chelsea would go through assuming Barca will continue this attacking brand of football during the 2nd leg @ Stamford Bridge. Chelsea would need that vital away goal against this rampant Barca side. Seriously, they are almost unplayable. I don't know if they look as good as they did on their own merits, or the Chelsea players simply didn't turn up.

Full-time score (updated 4:49am)

Barcelona 0 - 0 Chelsea

With the El Classico at the weekend, Barca substituted Eto and Henry out with 10 minutes left in the game and Chelsea were really lucky their replacement Bojan Krkic and Hleb weren't as lethal as the starters.

As mentioned earlier, Chelsea would have a tough task ahead as the onus falls on the home team to attack Barca. Unless, Hiddink is planning to defend for the 90mins, and then the 30min extra time. That said, penalty shootout is a lottery and could be the best chance to see Chelsea advance into the Finals.

It would be hard to contain Barca at Stamford Bridge, and IF they score, Chelsea will need two goals to overturn the away goal. You tell me, where are the goals going to come from? Fancy Ivanovic scoring a brace from corners again?

If any consolation at all, Puyol would be suspended for the second leg, and Marquez looks unlikely to be fit for the second leg. A sneaky feeling that Drogba's failure to convert on a defensive mix-up from Marquez would come back to haunt Chelsea.
