It's about time Phil left

The Times columnist Giles Smith wrote this article titled - 'Jose Mourinho back at Chelsea? We can but dream'

He mentioned in the article that Guus Hiddink/Avram Grant are favourites to the hot seat but further explained why the latter should stay where he is.

"As for Grant, well, nothing against “King Av”, as he is known in my area of the ground. It’s just that . . . well, didn’t we do that already? And quite recently?"

Haha. Exceptional tongue in cheek. Apart from its humour, what I liked about this article is its optimism..

"No. Most Chelsea fans would be happy, I think, if this was the moment we discovered that the departure of José Mourinho and his rift with Roman Abramovich was, like the death of Bobby Ewing in Dallas, nothing more than a bad dream. So, ripple, dissolve, and bring back the Special One, with a Zola/Steve Clarke backroom team seated on his left-hand side, and with Roberto Di Matteo as chief executive. Well, we can hope."

Actually I'm not really surprised Scolari got the sack, especially with the current dismal run of form. Chelsea actually got a DRAW against Hull City, AT STAMFORD BRIDGE. The goals have stopped coming and I suppose it's time to let Big Phil go, although he has only been at Chelsea for 7 months. I thought he was clueless in managing a club and surprisingly pathetic in tactics for someone who won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil.

I doubt there will be a quick rebound in the form, considering Ray Wilkins is the temporary in charge. Sigh... if only Steve Clarke was still around.

Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed the replacement would at least bring us Champions League football at the end of the season. If don't have also never mind lah... since it'll be broadcasted on mioTV next year. Haha.

This is what I call optimism at its best.
