He can sing,
he can joke,
he can host, and
he's so absolutely bitchy to the max. (in a positive way of course)
No doubt portions of the crowd did stand up and cheer when sodagreen belted out hits like 相对论, 频率, 记念, but the atmosphere never did carry through the whole of the performance.
The concert liven up only when they came out for the encore and opened the floor to song requests which was a pity because we were already 2hrs into the concert. The crowd FINALLY warmed up and stood up through out the encore (well, almost.)
There were also snippets of conversations with the audience which made us laugh so hard.
According to S'porean standards, I thought the band did well. They actually manage to get the crowd on their feet. Of all the concerts i've been to, only A* Mei and Mayday have the charm to do that in Singapore.
sodagreen definitely have a long road ahead of them, but they're definitely a good band. Lots of originality and personality in this band.
If you've missed their concert yesterday, fret not because their Taipei Concert DVD will be out in S'pore on Aug 11. It consists of 4 DVDs of their debut concert in Taipei, and comes with a 100-page photobook. Not sure of the price but i'm definitely getting it! (:
