Another leaving...

Telegraph - Frank Lampard quits Chelsea for Inter Milan

I expected a clear out at the end of the season. But Lampard is the last person i expect to leave the club. He is one of the few regulars in the squad and has been consistent for the past few seasons. It's sad when he pledged that he would stay and he didn't, but i suppose both sides couldn't agree on a deal. It's good that he's reuniting with Mourinho at Inter, afterall he won his 1st and 2nd league title amidst other trophies with the 'Special One'.

However with Lampard's departure, I have serious doubts that Ballack will be able to fill that gapping hole left behind. Or for that matter, Deco if he lands himself at Stamford Bridge. We need someone who can attack the ball outside the penalty box and make runs to support the strikers. Personally i don't think Ballack and Deco can do the job.

Since Abramovich's arrival, players have been coming in at a premium and we're selling them off at a much reduced price to other clubs when they become fringe players. If we don't start winning things again, i'm afraid the next to leave would be him. And Chelsea will be in big big trouble.
