7:30pm - Whole family except maid went off to central for dinner. Took the lift down, had this burnt stench... choking smell...
7:45pm - Took the bus... when my phone rang....
Fren: Hello Weiren ah! You at home? Your block is on fire!!
Stoned me: Ahh.. okok... i'm on the bus...
Fren: Ehh anyone at home anot?
Stoned me: No one...
Fren: okok...
So i told my mom about the fire and she got all tensed... and started to call home, hoping my maid will answer the call. But after many tries, no one picked up.
8pm - Had our dinner at Swensens... as if nth happened....
*munch**munch**munch**munch**munch**munch**munch**munch**munch**munch*
10pm - Took the feeder bus back home, and found crowds gathering at neighbouring void decks, with the 'police tape' surrounding the perimeter...
I was wondering to myself, "is it really this bad?"... coz there were 2 fire engines, a rhino and an ambulance...
10:30pm - Settled down at the void deck of 217, chairs were provided! I'm amazed by this. Elections does wonders balls. And just a little longer, drinks, cakes and HOT MILO were provided. Of course my fatass brother was esctatic. Even MP Sitoh Yipin was serving the residents the drinks + food.

10:45pm - The police were calling out for people living from 19th floor and above, to check that they're safe. The rest of us were told to be patient while they sort out what to do next...

11:00pm - MP Chiam See Tong informed the residents that he's liased with the building contractor, and told us that electricity will be back on in 30mins...

Wait wait wait....
11:30pm - FINALLY can go up.... FAT HOPE! Latest news: Ok, residents living from 2nd to 13th floor, electricity has resume, u can go up now... I ask for ur patience to wait for another 30mins (for the rest of us...)
Lucky ones get to go up...
12:00am - yawnz... LIGHTS!!! FINALLY... we get to go up!! So the lot of us made our way up the stairs coz the lifts are not working. The water from all the 'putting out fire' was draining down the stairs, made climbing them a chore. (as if it was not)
wait wait...
p.s. residents of 21st to 25th storey are still waiting downstairs as i'm typing this...
so that ends my fire fire fire fire fire fire post. Read the papers tomorrow for more detailed info.
