I'm finally home and dry at home! The 2 weeks confinement passed by just like that... the first few days were rather rough and slow going, but subsequently as i adjusted to the lifestyle, time flew...
There were really high morale times in the platoon, and also low morale ones...
For those who still wondering where i've been the past 2 weeks... i've been enlisted into army, serving the nation for the next 2 years.
On 11 June i enlisted coz i missed my initial enlistment due to food poisoning. It was quite a blessing in disguise... i ended up in Falcon company, same bunk as Chris... how qiao can this get....
So far it was routine training... wake up 530am, makan, train, slack, makan lunch, slack, lecture, train, dinner, slack...
Quite a lot of slacking time, but so far we already progressively did 3 route marches, all 3km, but with different loads... we're at the FBO (Full Battle Order) stage now... with field pack where ur barang barangs are, then helmet with the grass on top, a dummy rifle (which weighs heavier than the real thing) and our webbing where we put bottles and other barang barang... Route marches so far have been fun. How i wish there were pictures to show...
Physical training is tough, especially when it comes to the chin ups, i can barely lift myself up the bar... and we have to do quite a bit before every meal...
Then theres the running part which i kinda enjoy since i can manage it. Gym, warm ups, and different strength trainings... shacked us out almost all the time... or definitely dirty our attire.
Moving on, there are the funny part of National Service of course... like how some SGTs, PT instructors speak, acts, amuses us alot... when we kena tekan also feel damn happy inside.. or prolly we're immune to all the vulgarities spouted freely by them...
Theres this instructor who goes 'AH' before and after every sentence... plus monotone... he really sounded like terminator.
e.g. AH guys, you better fucking wake up your idea AH! Fucking hell. Early in the morning AH, make me scold you guys AH.
In army, u find the slightest thing amusing.... afterall, this seemed to be our only entertainment besides our bunk mates... =D
We keep a diary of such, where we pen in our thoughts for the day. The book has been written for quite a few batches... so the stories they left behind gave us some idea what life will be like, and i hope what we're doing now will give the recruits in future an idea how life will be.
Speaking of bunk mates, i got a very slack yet motivated bunch of pple with me... which is a very good balance of the both. In future if got chance, will get photos and post it here.. coz all of them are intersting pple...
I'll update again if i have the time tomorrow! Thats it for now! Enjoy civilian life!
